Join Academy Award nominated Director Scott Hamilton Kennedy for a masterclass in independent documentary and film.

From Initial Idea to Oscar Nomination

Taught by Academy Award nominated and internationally acclaimed filmmaker Scott Hamilton Kennedy, the master class will cover the process of independent documentary production from start to finish. Appropriate for film students, amateur filmmakers or anyone who wants to know how documentaries get made, the course will touch upon the must-have qualities for a successful documentary. Mr. Kennedy will discuss the steps involved in taking an original idea and making it into a successful documentary, including script, funding, pitching ideas, shooting, post-production and distribution. This course is a practical ‘how to’ one, as well as an illuminating look at Mr. Kennedy’s own experiences in conceiving, funding, creating, and selling his own award-winning documentaries.
