Join us for late night stargazing at Dunsink Observatory.
As you adjust your eyes for some summer night star gazing, poetry and music at Dunsink Observatory.
Take a guided tour of Grubb’s heritage South Telescope with observing and weather permitting on the historic lawns at Dunsink where telescopes will be set for viewing. There will be inspiring talks in the Meridian and Solar Rooms with members of the Irish Astronomical Society about the history of astronomy in Ireland.
Music performance by Cal Folger Day, poetry by Iggy McGovern and Richie Brennan. Sam Green and Jonathon Mackey of DIAS explain how we will map our home Galaxy in 3D and Niall Smith of CIT and Blackrock Castle Observatory presents a brief history of astronomy in Ireland.
If you would like to arrive by bicycle to the event there is a Night Cycle leaving from Dublin City Centre. Please reserve your place on the cycle here (tickets are free and it includes entry to Dunsink).
