Join the Hugh Lane Gallery with artist Rebecca Shelford as encourages us to be inspired by the beauty and diversity of the natural world around us.
There will be two specially made short art activity films which will take inspiration from artworks in the Gallery’s collection such as Tea in the Garden by Walter Osborne and Chinese Landscape by Patrick Scott as well as the diversity of forms, shadows, light, patterns, trees, the sea and more in our natural world.
These will be the springboards to make your own imaginative drawings and even a jam jar of light.
For both young and old we sometimes create self-imposed barriers to our creativity. The first mark on a blank page can be the most daunting and the most exciting. We want you to forget about perfection & instead simply enjoy the act of drawing. Drawing can help you look more closely at an object or an artwork and notice things that you may not have noticed before.
