Intro to Virtual Painting

Join world renowned multimedia artist Aphra Shemza in her new digital painting workshop for adults.

This 2 hour interactive workshop for adults will be taking place on zoom. We encourage all participants to have their camera and microphone on in order to take part in the discussion. Please note there is also a family friendly version of this workshop taking place on July 25th at 13:00.

This workshop is centred around Aphra’s shemza.digital project which is a collaboration with computer artist Stuart Batchelor. Shemza.digital is based on the work of Aphra’s grandfather, the well-known British/Pakistani painter Anwar Jalal Shemza. During the workshop you will be introduced to the historical context of the project, the three artist’s works and create your own digital paintings using the bespoke shemza.digital painting application. Each participant will create a number of digital paintings, submit them to the online archive and download their image file to their device.
