Join us for a family drawing workshop inspired by the archaeology of ancient sites with Duffy Mooney Sheppard.
Across the world, there are ancient buildings that were built to track the changing of the seasons. In Ireland we have Newgrange and the Carrowkeel tombs – the roof boxes capture the light of the sun to track the summer and winter solstice. Let’s explore!
In this workshop, we will look at the ancient artwork found at these sites and explore the changing seasons to create a drawings that celebrates the Summer season. Let’s draw swirling spirals, concentric circles, and repeating diamonds!
