Summer Night Stargazing
Join us for late night stargazing under the night sky at Dunsink Observatory.
As we celebrate the anniversary of the Moon Landings this July, join us for a curious night of stargazing and astronomy at the ever beautiful and always intriguing, Dunsink Observatory.
An evening for all ages to explore the night sky together – take a guided tour of Grubb’s heritage South Telescope, and weather permitting live stargazing from the historic lawns at Dunsink where telescopes will be set for viewing.
There will be inspiring talks in the Meridian and Solar Rooms exploring DIAS’s links with the Apollo Missions from members of the Irish Astronomical Society which will also explore the history of astronomy in Ireland. You will meet Professor Peter Gallagher, Head of The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studios, Dunsink Observatory and The Irish @LOFAR telescope at Birr Castle who will talk about the history and current astro research at Dunsink.
